JOB SUMMARY
Rewinds electric motors and generators, by performing the required duties with low degrees of independence
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The following essential responsibilities of this position must be performed with or without reasonable
accommodation.
- Cuts out or removes defective coils, records data, and removes insulation from core slots
- Cuts and forms insulation and inserts insulation into armature, rotor or stator slots
- Installs and aligns pre-wound formed coils or random coils in slots of armature, rotors or stators
- Replaces defective coil leads and solders/brazes connections of coils in specified sequence
- Strip and record field coil data for AC and DC Machines (motors/generators)
- Prepare form, wind, dip/VPI and bake AC and DC windings
WORK SCHEDULE
- 1st, 2nd or 3rd Shift plus regular daily overtime, and periodic work on weekends and holidays.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- At least 2 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and
- procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, use whole numbers, common fractions
- and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent, to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only
- limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
- Physical and Sensory Requirements

- Must be able to hear and speak clearly.
- Ability to use hands and fingers on a keyboard and use a mouse.
- Must be able to sit at a PC and view the details of words, tables and images on a computer screen for long
- periods of time.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs. from ground level to waist high
- Working Conditions
- The working environment is a temperature controlled office environment, with workspace located in an office
- area; periodic, temporary exposure to a shop environment with moderate noise levels.
