Technician III
The fundamental reason this classification exists is to perform skilled work in the installation, routine maintenance, and repair of Information Technology System cabling and system devices/headend. Work is subject to inspection while in progress and upon completion by a Telecommunication Project Manager or RCDD.
Technician I and II responsibilities, along with the following:
Cabling
Install, Terminate, Test and Certify:
- Multi-pair cable
- Inter Building
- Intra Building
- Fiber Optic Single/ Multi Mode
- Inter Building
- Intra Building
- Fiber to the Station
- Horizontal Cabling
Including Cabling For:
- Audio/Visual
- Fire Alarm
- Radio Frequency Systems (RF Systems)
System Installation
Card Access
- Head End Installation
- Program and Certify Systems
System Installation
Camera – Analog and IP
- Head End Installation
- Program and Certify Systems
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Requirements:
- BICSI Certification
- Complete end of project documentation as required
- OSHA 30
Knowledge of:
- Manufacturer installation recommendations
- NEC
Ability to:
- Ability to act as a project Lead in absence of Superintendent
- Ability to supervise small to medium projects
- Think clearly and act quickly in emergency situations.
