HVAC Technicians are mobile and use multiple trade skills such as general maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, locksmith, painting and roofing for a wide variety of customers in an assigned geographical territory. Technicians are provided a company vehicle, tools and equipment. Technicians are based at their home address and access their daily route through a company provided iPad and iPhone. We offer opportunities for skill development through on the job training as well as professional training and education programs.
Job Title: HVAC Technician
Shift: 6:00am-6:00pm (2-2-3)
Job Summary:
The HVAC Technician is responsible for performing preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance and provide recommendations to commercial HVAC systems as appropriate. In addition, will perform as a Multi-Craft Technician toward assigned duties toward plumbing, electrical and general building maintenance. Understands control operation and sequence of operation for commercial HVAC systems. Utilizes multiple trade communication skills and can foster strong relationships with customers, vendors and team members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
- HS diploma or Degree/Certification, or equivalent professional experience in Trades (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, etc.).
- 5 or more years of HVAC experience in Commercial / Industrial / Manufacturing service.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions including, but not limited to, safety policies and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in individual and small group situations.
- Maintain adequate knowledge of and always comply with OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Act) standards and company safety policies.
- EPA Universal
- Must possess applicable certifications, licenses, and valid driver's license in good standing.
- Strong interpersonal skills and good customer service skills.
Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. Frequently is required to climb or balance. Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is considered normal. Required to drive a company vehicle daily. Work in an environment where the following safety equipment is needed; steel toe shoes, hearing protection, noise protection, hardhat, eye protection, hand protection, etc. Abide by OSHA guidelines including lock-out/tag-out and HAZCOM guidelines and all other Company and Customer driven safety initiatives. Hours of work are solely defined and governed by business volume and contract schedules. Ability to handle stressful situations and remain calm in the face of the customer.
