What you bring to the table
Beck is looking for a qualified Senior Pre-Fabrication Manager to join an extraordinary project team in Austin, Texas. While this is an individual role, you will be involved in many facets of preconstruction with the ability to evolve our existing operations. In this role, you will support the team leaders on Pre-Fabrication opportunities and strategies for the design and construction of a large healthcare complex and other projects as we develop pursuit plans. The position involves the following essential functions:
- Proven capability to coordinate the design, QAQC and installation of pre-fabricated building components.
- Provide accurate quantity takeoffs and initial pricing
- Independently estimate Interior, MEP, and Structure Scopes of work with minimal direction and understand applicable specifications sections including labor hours, crews, and installation sequencing
- Organize and develop an estimate templates using a wide variety of classification structures including UniFormat, Masterformat (49 Divisions), and a Bid Tabulation coding structure.
- Lead in the pre-qualification of subcontractors / vendors and management of the sub database
- Identify pre-fabrication opportunities early in design for projects and solicit proposal from pre-fabrication companies and in-house opportunities.
- Proficiently and regularly administer one or more BIM tools in daily practice
- Effectively integrate to design teams to support the implementation of pre-fabricated components into the design.
- Participate in presentations to clients
- Identify major risk items of a project and a plan to mitigate those risks
- Interpret conceptual, schematic, or bridging documents and develop cost estimates
- Understand the design process (3rd party or integrated)
- Deliver high quality preconstruction deliverable content including cost estimates, supporting detail and documentation, and graphics in a visually intelligent and professional manner.
- Demonstrate excellence in the pursuit of daily tasks and responsibilities while expressing flexibility in the means and methods deployed to help the organization achieve its higher goals.
- Support manufacturing and project management through historical labor tracking and updating of estimating tools.
- Facilitate the planning and procurement process in conjunction with the operations and preconstruction team
- Provide support, data, and information necessary for the marketing team to produce collateral, case studies, presentations, tours, etc...

You also meet the following requirements:
Required Skills and Experience
- 10 years of relevant construction and/or preconstruction experience including 5 years with pre-fabrication.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling and testing/commissioning.
- Leadership of QAQC team and processes associated with pre-fabrication.
- College graduate with a relevant degree
- Demonstrable proficiency with technology such as MS Office, on-screen quantity take-off applications, model-based quantity take-off technologies, and next generation estimating platforms. The candidate will be expected to use DESTINI Estimator as the primary estimating application and supplement tools such as Revit, BIM360, Assemble, and Power BI.
