The Director of Strategic Partnerships is a key member of IME’s leadership team, responsible for advancing the company’s brand presence, driving strategic external relationships, and aligning marketing efforts with business development initiatives. This role oversees the marketing and business development teams and ensures delivery of innovative, high-impact strategies to elevate IME’s market presence and revenue growth.
What You'll Do
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Marketing Leadership: Create and execute a comprehensive marketing plan that aligns with IME’s strategic business objectives and growth targets. Oversee all aspects of IME’s branding efforts, ensuring consistency across all channels including internal/external communications. Develop a robust communication strategy including targeted messaging, sales collateral, project write-ups, awards submissions, and executive presentations that reinforce IME’s value proposition.
- Strategic Partnerships: Develop and nurture relationships with industry partners, clients, thought leaders, MWBE, and associations to enhance visibility and build strategic alliances. Collaborate with preconstruction, service, and operations teams to ensure business development efforts are fully supported through customized marketing and sales strategies. Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging opportunities and recommend actionable strategies for new business acquisition.
- Community and Industry Relations: Plan, coordinate, and execute all external events, including conferences, golf tournaments, trade shows, and client engagement events. Manage IME’s industry awards presence by crafting compelling submissions that showcase our story, leveraging strong writing skills to elevate brand prestige and recognition.
- Proposal Development: Manage the overall proposal development process to ensure timely, high-quality, and strategically positioned submissions that align with IME’s business objectives. Guide and support marketing staff and project teams in the creation of proposals, ensuring content quality, messaging, and brand alignment. Work closely with leadership, estimating, preconstruction, and operations teams to establish proposal best practices and ensure a cohesive, winning approach to RFP and RFQ responses. Review and approve final proposals and qualification packages before submission to ensure they meet IME’s high standards of quality, competitiveness and brand integrity.
- Team Leadership and Collaboration: Lead, mentor, and develop the internal marketing & business development teams, fostering creativity, collaboration, and professional growth. Maintain relationships with third-party consultants, photographers, branding agencies, and other vendors to ensure brand consistency, cost effectiveness, and quality outcomes.

- Proven success in growing businesses through strategic business development planning, relationship building, and targeted marketing support.
- Strong organizational, planning and project management skills
- Demonstrated ability to write and communicate in a clear and compelling manner, with a strong command of English grammar and editing, and attention to detail.
- Experience collaborating with all levels of an organization including senior leadership
- Ability to coordinate activities of various team members or third-party contractors and to prioritize tasks when faced with multiple deadlines.
- Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills with a “hands-on” and team-oriented attitude.
- In-depth understanding of the organization’s lines of business with the ability to successfully articulate differentiators, wins, and staff skillsets.
Demonstrated accomplishments in the following areas:
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, and social media platforms.
- Proven experience in communications and content writing.
- Experience with MWBE outreach best practices and industry-related community engagement, preferred.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or a combination of relevant education and experience
- 8+ years of relevant marketing experience with 2+ years in the construction industry highly preferred
- Proven experience leading teams or managing direct reports, with a demonstrated ability to motivate, develop, and hold team members accountable to achieve goals
What You'll Get
Working Conditions:
The majority of the time you will work in a typical office environment. Occasionally, you may travel to a construction job site. When on construction job sites you will encounter typical construction conditions including extreme temperatures, noise, dust, mud debris, welding, leading edge, trenching, and shoring, sometimes in a confined space. You may be required to visit multiple locations during any one day.
Benefits Overview:
IME provides an industry-leading comprehensive benefits package. Full-time employees are eligible to choose from a variety of healthcare coverage options, which become effective the first of the month after hire. In addition, employees are offered a substantial amount of PTO and are immediately eligible to make contributions to a generously matched and fully vested 401k.
Salary Range: $123,250 - $166,750
*Final salary and rates are based on education, experience, skills relevant to the role, and internal equity.*
