About the Position
Responsible for uncovering new business development opportunities, attracting new customers, establishing client networks, and leading job solicitation efforts. This position provides leadership to create positive community relationships, build and nurture relationships with potential clients, and create strong networks with current and potential business partners, all in coordination with the Company’s mission, brand, vision, and code of conduct/ethical business practices, and alignment with all Company policies, procedures, key objectives, and regulations.

Day in the Life
- Partner with senior management and other company marketing, operations, and business development personnel to understand key objectives, strategies, priorities, and client relationship work.
- Creates and maintains quality marketing materials, such as presentations, newsletters, photos, images, digital campaign information, and letters. Creates and assembles proposals, Request for Quotes (RFQs), Request for Information (RFIs), Request for Proposals (RFPs,) and interview presentations.
- Research, develop, and establish initial contact with potential clients for early lead identification of new project opportunities—Qualifies for targeted opportunities that lead to project awards.
- Establishes and cultivates relationships with potential clients through digital presence, cold calls, meetings, and continued follow-up. Maintains client, partner, and vendor contact information.contact information for clients, partners, and vendors.
- Assists in the development and maintenance of an annual business development event calendar. Monitors and measures prospect and proposal activities, including monthly sales revenue and budgets. Manages the vendor sourcing process.
- Trains, coaches, and mentors business development employees and other co-workers as needed. Assists in creating and modifying business processes to improve work efficiencies.
- Identifies, plans, manages, coordinates, and attends all trade shows, conferences, workshops, and other networking events. Collaborates with other business leaders and business development team members to develop and implement strategies for a successful social media presence.
- Participates in on-call duties as necessary by the business.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in business administration, marketing, construction management or a related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience with account management, marketing and/or sales, preferably in facility services business development and growth strategy and solution, pricing, organizational design, and client relationship building and networking.
- Proven track record of successful facility services business development on a national level. Demonstrated experience in achieving or exceeding annual sales targets and creatively winning new business.
- Ability to motivate and work collaboratively with senior technical and business leaders and subject matter experts, executive management, and client groups on various projects.
- Experience with Customer Relationship Management and Content Management System software. Familiarity with business intelligence tools (i.e., SalesForce and PowerBI). Broad experience with other software and financial systems is desired.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.
- CoreNet/IFMA/BOMA memberships and participation in national and regional events is preferred.
- Strong listening, presentation, negotiation, conflict management and persuasion skills, and the ability to influence potential customers and employees at all levels, including senior management. Experience and skills to work closely with proprietary information and maintain confidentiality.
- Exceptional business development, relationship building and client communication skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including high quality documentation and report preparation. Excellent collaboration, teamwork, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong coaching and mentoring skills. Effective independent organizational, problem-solving, prioritizing and time management skills.
- Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business strategies, client needs, and RFP documents. Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations.
Travel
- Frequent local and occasional overnight travel may be required.
