Overview
Works directly with customers to define functional requirements and design, configure, commission and qualify control systems & software programs. Experienced, hands-on Ignition engineer familiar with the Life Sciences industry.
Responsibilities
- Define and implement Ignition SCADA systems
- Update Life Cycle documents, and network architecture drawings per GMP standards
- Familiarity with Electronic Signature implementation in Ignition
- Validation per GMP standards of entire Ignition Solution
- Lead teams of engineers and technicians to provide control system solutions
- Work in team environment with engineers and designers from RoviSys, partners and clients to provide state of the art Control Systems to improve efficiency, product quality, and profitability of process manufacturing
- Testing and on-site commissioning and qualification of control systems
- Mentor less experienced engineers
Qualifications
- 2+ years of configuration experience within Ignition platform
- Working knowledge and experience with GDP, cGMP procedures and engineering practices on pharma/biotech production processes, facilities and equipment
- Ability to work in the Eastern Time Zone
- Demonstrates the ability to perform technical and managerial responsibilities
- Communicate effectively and professionally with both customers and colleagues to present new ideas, accomplish challenging goals, and solve problems
- Thorough understanding of control system design and coding
- Self-motivated, excellent communication skills, and enjoy working with people
Desired Qualifications:
- B.S. in Electrical, Computer, or Chemical Engineering or Engineering Technology
- Working knowledge of common communication protocols and Ignition SCADA
- Understanding of GAMP 5 validation processes
- Understanding of batch or continuous process control, combustion control
- Network design/administration
- Experience working with any of the following applications is a plus:
- MQTT/OPC UA
- Ignition Edge Panel
- Serial RS-232
- Modbus
- SQL
